Casting accuracy is essential to capitalise on this great sport, so you have to be ready to lose a few flies along the way! The nymphs of the Salmon Fly swim to the edge of the river and then crawl out onto low-hanging vegetation before emerging as adults, and so the Trout lie in wait in the undercut banks. This time our visit coincided with the Salmon Fly hatch for which the Big Hole River is so famous.
We were a party of six experienced fly fishers. The Club can also arrange guiding on the rivers if required. The beautifully appointed Club has its own three mile stretch of the Big Hole River which guests are free to fish at any time during their stay.
